Philippine Airlines Showcases New Airbus A350-1000 at Francisco Bangoy International Airport
DAVAO CITY — The Philippines’ flag carrier, Philippine Airlines, brought its newest long-range aircraft, the Airbus A350-1000, to Francisco Bangoy International Airport on March 5, 2026, marking a notable aviation event for Davao City and the wider Mindanao region.
The modern widebody aircraft conducted a special Davao–Manila demonstration flight as part of a promotional roadshow, offering passengers and aviation enthusiasts a rare opportunity to witness Southeast Asia’s first A350-1000 up close. The aircraft, built by Airbus, can carry up to 382 passengers and features a commemorative decal marking the airline’s 85th anniversary.
Observers and aviation followers gathered at the airport during the brief visit, highlighting growing interest in aviation in the region. The event also underscores Davao’s increasing importance as a key air transport gateway in Mindanao, supporting stronger connectivity between southern Philippines and major domestic and international routes.
